Siyue is currently a PhD candidate working within both the Sustainability of Chemicals and
Materials team (AMIBM) and the Circular Plastics team (CCE) at Maastricht University. Her
research focuses on circularity assessment of recycling in the footwear industry, aiming to
identify strategies that can improve resource efficiency, enhance recycling potential, and support
the transition toward a more circular footwear sector in Europe.
As part of the Sustainable and Circular Footwear Training Programme (SCARPA) under the Marie
Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), she collaborates within an interdisciplinary and international
network of researchers, academic institutions, and industrial partners across the European
footwear industry.
